Opportunity

The fund invests primarily in the energy sector in Canada -- a global leader with low geopolitical risk, large energy reserves, and a fast-growing production profile. In addition, the fund offers exposure to emerging markets through investments in developed world firms that are growing to meet new levels of global demand.

Strategy

By investing in small and mid cap energy companies, the portfolio managers aim to offer a favorable risk-reward opportunity in Canada's energy sector. It focuses on investing in growing companies with prospects that we identify as being superior to their peers. Through in-depth fundamental analysis conducted in the core of Canada’s resource sector, we identify the key factors that contribute to the success of resource companies, and develop a concentrated portfolio of 20 to 30 stocks that represent the best combination of value and growth.
